Refugees in Germany, Aisha, her husband Jamel, and their son Samir have fled the Yarmouk camp in Syria.
Welcomed into a house provided by public reception institutions, they try to acclimate to their new life despite the untimely visits of a rigid municipal agent.
One day, the agent introduces them to Maria and Sofia, a mother and daughter who are fleeing the Russian-Ukrainian war. The two families are forced to live together despite their different lifestyles and the suffering they endure in exile.
Abdallah Jamal AlKhatib, born in 1989 in Damascus, is a Palestinian-Syrian film director, writer, and human rights defender. He studied Sociology at the University of Damascus and worked at UNRWA before co-founding the Watad Center for Training and Development during the 2011 Syrian revolution. Honored as Peacemaker of the Year by German Greenpeace magazine in 2014 and awarded the Swedish Per Anger Prize for Human Rights in 2016, AlKhatib now resides in Germany. He focuses on writing and directing documentaries, including his award-winning "Little Palestine - Diary of a Siege", shown in over 50 countries, which won the Black Iris Award at the third edition of the Amman International Film Festival.
