Synopsis

Stripped of identity and blamed for what she cannot control, Sabreen clings to the only friendship she has left. In their southern Iraqi village, the two women make a final, desperate visit to the local fortune teller, chasing a glimmer of hope in a world that offers none. As pressure mounts and choices disappear, Sabreen longs for more than motherhood: for a moment of freedom, a voice of her own, and a chance to reclaim what remains of her spirit.

Director’s biography

Karar Hayder is a Young independent filmmaker and first-time director from a small rural town in southern Iraq. He studied cinema at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad. His work focuses on exploring human experiences and social issues. Karar's experience as a sound recordist on several films has helped him refine his directorial vision and deepen his understanding of the filmmaking process.
