بعد تدمير مخيم اليرموك من طرف النظام السوري والطيران الروسي، لجأت عائلة الخطيب الفلسطينية إلى ألمانياـ فوجدوا أنفسهم مضطرين لتقاسم مأواهم في ألمانيا مع ماريا وصوفيا اللاتي هربن من القصف الروسي لأوكرانيا.

On this hot summer day, 17-year-old Nayla is faced with the same dilemma every Lebanese youngster is faced with today – to leave or to stay. Two men in her life have set ideas about it, but both might wake up to a surprise.

تدور احداث “ملح البحر” في صيفٍ حار على شاطىء مدينة صور الجنوبية في لبنان، حيث تواجه نايلة -فتاة في ١٧- نفس المعضلة التي يواجهها الشباب اللبناني اليوم حول الرحيل والهجرة أو البقاء في الوطن، وتتأثر في أفكار رجلين عند إتخاذ القرار لتفاجئهما بالنتيجة.
