Synopsis
Hassan, a quiet security guard living in Cairo with his mother, is forced to go on the run after his dog and closest companion, Rambo, bites their hostile landlord. As Hassan moves through the city in search of a safe place for the dog, he's pulled into situations that make him confront painful memories and fears he's long buried -- ultimately leading him to reconnect with a part of himself he thought was lost.
Director’s biography
Khaled Mansour, an Egyptian director and screenwriter born in Cairo in 1991, studied history at Cairo University before independently pursuing cinema. In 2024, he made his debut feature film, *Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo*, which premiered in the official selection at the Venice International Film Festival and went on to win over 15 awards at festivals worldwide. It was released in Egyptian cinemas in early 2025 to commercial success. Khaled has participated in several renowned film labs and markets, enriching his vision and craft. He has also directed short documentaries and commercials. Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo is his first feature.
