Synopsis

In Ramallah, Mariam and Noura reunite after their father's death, only to discover he left behind a sizable inheritance. Bound by frustration with a system that favors their absent brother, they devise a daring plan to secure the money before he learns of their loss. As tensions rise and old wounds resurface, the sisters must navigate bureaucracy, family dynamics, and societal expectations in a story that blends humor with a critique of patriarchal norms.

Director’s biography

Laila Abbas is a Palestinian filmmaker, producer, and academic. She studied cinema in Jordan and later film and TV production at Royal Holloway University in the UK with a Said Foundation Scholarship. Her 2013 documentary ICE & DUST gained wide attention, and she later taught at Alquds University's Institute of Modern Media. In 2016, she founded Young Oak Productions, and in 2019, was selected for Berlinale Talents.
