Synopsis

A modern-day parable about resistance, the film centres on the story of Ali, a young Tunisian who dreams of a better life, making a precarious living selling contraband gas at the local black market. When his father suddenly dies, he’s forced to take charge of his two younger sisters and their impending eviction. What ensues is a fight for dignity.

Director’s biography

Lotfy Nathan is an American filmmaker. His first feature film, the documentary 12 O'Clock Boys, for which he received the HBO Emerging Artist Award, has been selected in over 50 international festivals, including SXSW, Sundance LA, Lincoln Center, Viennale, Hot Docs, London and Copenhagen.
